Black Mesa (2012)

Black Mesa is the remake of cult classic Half-Life, developed by fans on the Half-Life 2 engine (Source engine).

In Half-Life / Black Mesa, you play as Gordon Freeman, a scientist who finds himself at the center of a catastrophic incident in a underground research laboratory. You'll have get back to the surface to save your life and the lives of your colleagues.

Black Mesa exists in two versions.

• The 2012 free release, containing 90% of the original campaign (everything except Xen, the last part).
• The 2020 paid release, using updated source engine (2013), with a completed campaign, improved, and validated by Valve. This version is still updated as of 2025.

I recommend you to buy the full version on Steam, but if you don't have the money, or if you already have it and want to see the differences (there have many), you should try this version.
