Description
GoldenEye: Source is a fangame and a multiplayer remake of the famous Nintendo 64 game, GoldenEye 007, reimagined using the Source engine (Half-Life 2).
Classic multiplayer maps such as Complex, Library, and Facility are accompanied by updated versions of single-player locations like Silo, Aztec, Dam, Runway, Depot, Cradle, and Control. Each of these maps has been significantly adjusted to suit multiplayer gameplay while still remaining faithful to the missions that inspired them. Several environments — including Archives, Complex, Basement, Facility, Temple, and Bunker — are available in both their original “classic” layouts and their fully reimagined versions. Meanwhile, some maps from the N64 release appear only in their redesigned form in GoldenEye: Source, such as Egyptian, Caverns, and Caves. The game also introduces a few special maps, including Casino — inspired by the 2006 film Casino Royale — and Facility Backzone, which reinterprets the second half of the original Nintendo 64 mission’s layout.
The game does not contain the original single-player campaign, but it is possible to play the multiplayer maps alone, thanks to bots.
