Rising Thunder

Rising Thunder was a free-to-play 2D fighting game in development by Radiant Entertainment that was ultimately cancelled. The game debuted in an alpha version in 2015 but was discontinued after Riot Games acquired Radiant Entertainment. In January 2018, a "Community Edition" was made available as a free download, including the game's server source code.

Set in a futuristic world, the game features robots battling for supremacy.

Unlike traditional 2D fighting games that often rely on motion or charge commands, Rising Thunder employes simplified controls to enhance accessibility. Despite this, the game was designed to be deep, balanced, and capable of sustaining competitive play over the long term. The control scheme includes eight buttons: three for normal attacks, three for special moves, one for Overdrive/Super, and one for throwing. Each fighter defines by a specific fighting style and difficulty level.
